ACCESS NOW

Access Now is a 100 percent Community Integration Program that allows individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to explore and engage in meaningful and purposeful activities in the community.

At Bakersfield ARC, we understand that every individual has unique needs and aspirations. Our team of dedicated professionals works closely with individuals in the program to determine what they want from services and to support their efforts to pursue their own goals with an emphasis on developing community integration, independent living and vocational skills.

We believe that socialization is an essential component of community integration.

Our Access Now program offers a variety of community-based activities to help individuals develop social skills and build meaningful relationships. Opportunities for individuals to participate in include: community events, recreational activities, and volunteerism.

Through our Access Now Program, Bakersfield ARC is proud to offer a safe and supportive environment where individuals can develop the skills they need to become active and engaged members of their community.

What you can expect from the Access Now Program

The Access Now Program operates Monday - Friday from approximately 8:00am – 3:00pm.*

*Hours may vary due to traffic conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. Individuals in Access Now participate in the community in small groups settings. Round-trip transportation to community programming is provided by Bakersfield ARC to and from the participant’s home.
